Athens, September 19-20, 2019 – Expert input from Cyclurban Project at the 3rd BEACON Project Meeting.
The Team of the National Observatory of Athens (NOA) was invited by the local authorities of Agios Dimitrios (located at the southern part of Athens) within the framework of the 3rd Meeting of the municipal climate partnership between Agios Dimitrios and Bottrop (
The topics of the meeting were related to the sustainable development in local level. Ideas were exchanged and suggestions were made to advance sustainable urban mobility and climate mitigation on partner municipalities.
Bridging European and Local Climate Action (BEACON) is a project promoting local climate actions and exchanging advisory services between national governments as well as municipalities and schools in Europe. The aim of the project is to strengthen cooperation and create common ambition to realize the Paris Agreement as well as develop and implement measures for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It is funded by the European Climate Initiative (EUKI), which was launched by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU).
